The Panjab University, Chandigarh Board of Finance approved a budget of Rs 506.55 crore for THE fiscal year 2014-15 on Thursday. PU Vice-Chancellor Prof Arun Kumar Grover presided over the meeting, which was also attended by the PU Registrar Prof AK Bhandari, representatives of Punjab Government and UT Administration. Grover said that earlier the University used to get funding from Government of India through UT Administration but this year the University has got it through UGC. The University is expecting PU to be part of the plan and non-plan budget of the Union Government.
Preparations for MCM Job Fest in full swing
Chandigarh: MCM DAV College for Women Chandigarh is organising a day long job fest on February 8, 2014. The registration for the job fest will commence at 9.30 am and continue till 11.30 am. The job fest is open to all the job seekers of the tricity and elsewhere. They are required to carry their photo identity cards and multiple copies of passport size photographs and resumes with them on the day of the job fest. Various renowned companies from diverse fields such as pharmaceutical, finance, banking and insurance, marketing, tourism and hospitality, fashion industry etc will be present at the event.
lPU unveils next gen automobiles at Auto Expo 2014
Jalandhar: A very unique stall can be seen this year at Auto Expo where there is no glittering glamour but definitely one can see towering passion. It is not any R & D department or an auto giant but the students of lovely Professional University (lPU) who are showcasing their talent on such a huge platform as the Auto Expo. The students of lPU have showcased their 15 vehicles which have been conceptualised, designed, developed and manufactured by themselves, at the Delhi Auto Expo-2014. A part of the attractive line up of vehicles displayed at the expo were an array of new offerings — world’s first family solar car, world’s smallest car, mobile operated driverless car, multi-energy ‘Smart Hybrid Car’, unique bikes, hybrid cryogen engine, hexa copter, all-terrain vehicles, amongst others.
