In another decision, Badal gave his nod to sanction Rs 20 crore for the ongoing construction of two Meritorious Schools at Sangrur and Ferozepur besides hostels for boys and girls within the Meritorious School at Patiala.
Presiding over a meeting to review the progress of Meritorious Schools, the CM gave approval to grant Rs 5 crore each for the completion of upcoming Meritorious Schools at Sangrur and Ferozepur besides sanctioning a sum of Rs 10 crore for the construction of hostels for boys and girls within the campus of Meritorious Schools at Patiala.
The Chief Minister directed Major Gen (Retd) KAS Bhullar, Project Director, Society for Poor & Meritorious students of Punjab to get the construction work of these schools at Ferozepur and Sangrur well before the commencement of next academic session. He asked him to personally oversee the entire construction operations to ensure timely completion of these schools and the hostels for boys and girls at Patiala.
