Rs 195 cr projects for Faridabad, Ballabhgarh

Published on:

Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal on Monday laid the foundation stones of various projects to be constructed at a cost of Rs 195 crore in the Assembly constituencies of NIT Faridabad and Ballabhgarh.

These included projects costing Rs 158 crore in NIT Faridabad assembly constituency while the other nine projects, involving an investment of Rs 37 crore, are in Ballabgarh assembly constituency.

Referring to the inclusion of Faridabad in the Smart City project, the Chief Minister while speaking on the occasion at Ballabhgarh, urged the people of Faridabad to pay their electricity bills, property tax and other taxes in a timely manner as the Central Government provides funding for the project in the form of matching grant.

He said that there is no shortage of electricity in the state and the Haryana Government wanted to provide uninterrupted power supply to all consumers but they should also pay their electricity bills on time.

Highlighting the improvement made in sex ratio in the State, Manohar lal said that surveys regarding sex ratio were conducted during the tenures of the previous governments as well.

The present State Government paid attention to the issue and as a result of the ambitious ‘Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao’ the sex ratio at birth in the sState has now improved to 950 girls per 1,000 boys against the earlier 850 girls per 1,000 boys, said he.

Manohar lal also said that lPG connections have been provided to women who used firewood or coal for cooking, and urged those who had been left out to immediately contact their Deputy Commissioner concerned so that they may be provided with gas stoves under the ‘Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana’.

Haryana has been made kerosene-free as the kerosene to be distributed as ration was misused for adulteration of petrol instead of reaching the poor. We will create many such records in the coming time, he added.

Referring to the positive response received by the online teachers’ transfer policy, he said that while earlier teachers had to run from post to pillar throughout the year for their transfer, 93 per cent of the teachers had been posted at places of their preference under the online transfer system. Several states have sought to replicate the teachers’ transfer policy of Haryana, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Union Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment, Krishan Pal, said that only the corrupt persons are disgruntled with the present government as both the Prime Minister and Chief Minister worked honestly with the ideology of ‘Na Khaunga Na Khaane Doonga’.

During the tenure of the previous government, several ministers of Central and Haryana Governments were sent to jail on charge of

corruption.

While the present State Government is about to complete three years of its tenure, even the staunchest of opponents have been unable to accuse the government of indulging in corruption, he added.
