Accusing the State Government of giving a deaf ear to their long-standing demands, the Haryana Roadways Workers Union has threatened to launch a State-wide agitation against the Government if it does not cancel the recruitment of 14 drivers made under the Out Sourcing Policy in Gurgaon recently.

While interacting with media persons at Jhajjar depot of Haryana Roadways on Friday, Dalbir Singh Nehra, State president of the Union, said the Government was delibrately ignoring the interest of common people by making appointments on various posts through outsourcing.

“The roadways employees have many times opposed the recruitment under outsourcing policy with logical reasons, despite all the Government is not hesitating to fill the vacant posts in roadways department through outsourcing causing acute resentment among the employees,” said Nehra, adding that the roadways employees were united against the policy and would not tolerate it in any condition.

He maintained the union had also submitted its memorandum to the State Government for getting the out sourcing policy rolled back but to no avail.

In the given situation, the employees had no other option left but to launch a decisive fight against the government to get their demands met, he added.

Nehra informed that the union delegation would also call on higher authorities of the roadways department on July 11 in connection with their long-standing demands.

“We shall not hesitate to announce a State-wide agitation against the government if the authority does not give us positive response at the meeting,” he maintained.
