Union Minister of Railways, Suresh Prabhakar Prabhu will inaugurate the commencement of the electrification of Rohtak-Bathinda-lehra Mohabbat Rail line costing Rs294 crore on Saturday, April 25 at Rohtak Railway Station.
An official spokesman of the State Government on Friday said that the project included four each traction sub stations and overhead equipment depots, two power supply installation depots and 33 stations.
He said that the main benefits of the project would be seamless operation on electric traction, higher speed, higher throughput, introduction of Mainline Electric Multiple Unit (MEMU) services, reduction in journey time, reduced dependence on High Speed Diesel oil, improved energy security and eco friendly mode of transport.
The inauguration ceremony would take place in the presence of Haryana Chief Minister Manohar lal and Union Minister of Rural Development Ch. Birender Singh and Rohtak MP Deepender Singh Hooda, MP Shadi lal Batra and MlA Manish Kumar Grover would be the special guests on the occasion, he added.
