The Chandigarh Election Department will conduct a special summary revision of electoral rolls in the city w.r.t. January 1, 2015 as the qualifying date. The process for revision of electoral rolls will start from October 15 onwards.
A spokesperson of the UT Election Department said that the draft electoral roll of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency will be published on October 15, 2014. The claims and objections from the eligible residents who attain the age of 18 years or above as on January 1, 2015 are invited from October 15, 2014 to November 10, 2014 in the Sampark Centres and in the office of concerned AERO.
“Also, special campaign days on October 19 and November 2 will be held when BlOs (block level officers) will receive the forms from 9 am to 5 pm at all the designated polling stations of Chandigarh Parliamentary Constituency. The residents can collect and submit the requisite forms at all the designated locations free of cost,” added the spokesperson.
He said, “All the requisite forms, particulars of concerned BlOs and AERO offices are available on the website of this department i.e. www.ceochandigarh.nic.in or once can call 1950 (toll free number) for more information.”
