A 70 year-old retired Army official has been arrested for allegedly molesting a minor school boy, at Sector-25 here on May 25. The retired Army official has also been imposed with charges of unnatural sex and threatening the nine-year-old boy. The matter was brought to police on Monday, as the victim cowering under the threat of the accused, took time to break his silence.
Chander was arrested on Monday night from his rented house at Bapu Dham Colony. Police said that the boy resides in the same neighborhood where Chander has been living with his family for past few months. The victim used to visit the residence of Chander as their families were known to each other.
In his complaint to the police, the victim has claimed that on Sunday he visited Chander's residence when he was alone at home. The accused allegedly molested him and when he resisted, Chander threatened him of dire consequences and overpowered him. He also threatened to kill him if he uttered a word about the incident to anyone.
The parents of victim said that their son had been very upset after the incident and on Monday, when asked the reason behind his depression, they were shocked to hear that Chander had sodomised him.
The parents then took the matter to the police. A case has been registered against the accused and further investigations are in place, said Anokh Singh SHO.
