Over a dozen “rebel” BJP MlAs who attended the Haryana legislature Prty meeting on Wednesday went back home “unhappy” as they were not allowed to air their grievances at the meeting.
The party legislature meeting which met under Chief Minister Manohar lal deliberated upon the programmes to strengthen the party in the State. The meeting which was also attended by chairmen of boards and corporations in the State, chalked out plan to observe ‘Swachhta Divas’ on June 5 in the State.
After the meeting, several dissenting BJP MlAs expressed their displeasure for not being given an opportunity to raise other issues at the meeting.
Subhash Barala, Haryana BJP chief while talking to the mediapersons said that during the meeting, the party discussed the upcoming”Swachhta Divas” to be observed on June 5, the World Environment Day in the State.
Swachhta Divas would be observed to mark the ‘World Environment Day’ in Haryana. The cleanliness campaign will be launched in 125 mahagrams having a population of more than 10,000 each in the State on June 5.
The party has asked MlAs, Ministers, public representatives, chairmen of boards and corporations to actively take part in the campaign alongwith the public, he said.
The BJP-led State Government would seek cooperation of social and non-Government organisations to conduct cleanliness campaigns in Haryana.
Further to strengthen the party, the BJP MlAs have been asked to work at booth level for 15 days each month, said Barala. On infighting within the party, he denied any such factionalism in the State party unit. The BJP MlAs meeting was convened just three days before the party’s national president Amit Shah’s visit to Chandigarh on May 20. Shah is also scheduled to visit Haryana for three days in the first week of July to connect with the party cadre and voters ahead of general elections 2019. With an eye on 2019 lok Sabha and State Assembly polls, the party has planned to launch a three-month campaign from May 26 to connect with the people of the State.
