Rebel Haryana BJP MlA meets party leaders

Unhappy with the Manohar lal Khattar-led Haryana Government following the registration of a fraud case against his family members, the rebel BJP MlA from Gurugram, Umesh Aggarwal on Thursday met senior party leaders demanding an appropriate action to resolve his demands.

Aggarwal met State general secretary (organisation), Suresh Bhatt and Haryana BJP chief Subhash Barala in Rohtak and apprised them about his grievances.

After the meeting, MlA Umesh Aggarwal while talking to the mediapersons said, “I have apprized the senior party leaders about the entire case and have demanded an appropriate action.”

The MlA added that the two leaders have assured to address his grievances.

The Gurugram MlA alleged that the State Government is trying to suppress his voice and ignoring the development issues in Haryana as it is indulging in such acts of registration of false cases against his family members.

When asked about the future course of action, Aggarwal added that a strategy would be chalked out after a meeting with other MlAs, who have come in his support.

Aggarwal is among over a dozen BJP MlAs who have been airing their grievances against the Chief Minister Manohar lal for the last few months.

The Sonepat police had on Tuesday booked Aggarwal’s two brothers and a nephew along with others allegedly for grabbing land of the complainant in the case.

Following this, Aggarwal had levelled allegations of ‘political conspiracy’ as he had been speaking up against the BJP led State Government in Haryana.

The Gurugram had also hit out at the State Government for not acting tough against those “involved in scams” and sought intervention of the party leadership to resolve the issues raised by the party’s disgruntled legislators.

A day before, Umesh Aggarwal had also held a meeting in Gurugram with some of the disgruntled MlAs who had expressed solidarity with him.

Among the MlAs who were present in the meeting were Rewari MlA Randhir Singh Kapriwas, Pataudi MlA Bimla Chaudhary, Narnaul MlA Om Prakash Yadav, Kosli MlA Bikram Singh Thekedar and Mullana MlA Santosh Sarwan.

Terming it a “political vendetta”, the MlAs had said that such actions are not a good sign for democracy and they will protest against the State Government for the registration of a case against Aggarwal’s family members.

While BJP has strength of 47 in the 90-member House, more than a dozen MlAs at various public forums have time and again vent their frustration "of being treated like Opposition MlAs".

Amid the controversy over registration of an FIR against the family members of Umesh Aggarwal,  Haryana Finance Minister, Capt. Abhimanyu on Thursday defended the State Government’s action.

Capt. Abhimanyu said that FIR has been registered against the brothers of MlA, Umesh Aggarwal, for their wrongdoings and did not bear any relation to the MlA’s resentment.

Clarifying that no particular person had been targeted and law had taken its own course, he said that he hoped that police would take similar action against other land developers and builders against whom complaints had been lodged by the people.

He added that action should be taken against those builders who cheat people.
