Rebel BJP MlA from Gurugram embarrasses own Govt

Published on:

BJP dissident MlA from Gurugram, Umesh Aggarwal on Tuesday lashed out at his own Government in the State Assembly alleging irregularities in the allotment of land licences to the companies in his constituency.

During the question hour, the Gurugram MlA left the Manohar lal Khattar Government embarrassed when he raised questions on the changes made in the master plan 2013 of Gurugram and also,  alleged irregularities in land allotment to the companies.

Targeting the Chief Minister Manohar lal, the MlA said that I had informed the Chief Minister about eight companies who already knew about the policies in master plan before it was finalised and applied accordingly for licences. At that time, CM had assured me of conducting an inquiry into it and also, take action against them but no action has been taken against these companies, said he.

While the Chief Minister was not present in the House, the MlA continued his tirade against the State Government saying that the file of these eight companies were kept for two years and then they were given licences without any inquiry. On one hand, we talk about not keeping any pendency of files and on the other hand, these files were kept for two years in the office without doing any inquiry, said he.

Replying to him, Finance Minister Capt. Abhimanyu said that it is a serious issue and a matter of inquiry if some companies had prior information about the Government’s policy. The government will look into it, said he.

Capt. Abhimanyu also said that no changes have been made in the master plan 2031 for Gurugram. The area limit of 300 acres is prescribed not in the development plan of Gurugram Manesar Urban Complex 2031, but in the affordable Housing Policy 2013. A proposal to extend the area limit is under examination, said the Minister while responding to the question of the MlA.

On this, the Gurugram MlA alleged that the Minister is giving a wrong statement as changes have been made in the master plan.

Congress legislative party leader Kiran Choudhry also tried to corner the State Government on the issue and asked whether it is permitted to make changes in the master plan.

However, Capt. Abhimanyu reiterated that no changes have been made in the master plan 2031 of Gurugram by the State Government.

Notably, Umesh Aggarwal is one of 16 MlAs who are unhappy with the Chief Minister and have also raised their grievances with the party high command.
