After maintaining silence on BJP’s chargesheet submitted to the Governor and terming it as a ‘bundle of lies’, Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh on Tuesday announced on the floor of house that he was ready for CBI probe into the charges levelled against him.
“I am already facing several cases in different courts and I am no more afraid of any cases. I had faced even session trials and have come out clean,” said he adding that if Opposition wants CBI probe into the chargesheet then he is ready for CBI probe into the charges leveled against him. “Income Tax department and CBI are already probing my income tax returns and therefore, I need not to fear about any investigating agencies,” said the Chief Minister.
He further alleged that opposition just wants to subvert the ongoing investigations against their leaders done in different cases by investigating agencies. On this, leader of Opposition Prem Kumar Dhumal said that if tomorrow, Virbhadra Singh informs the house that State Government will send the requisition to CBI to probe into the chargesheet, then Opposition will welcome the move.
Dhumal added that by merely saying that he wants CBI probe, will not be sufficient and they have to inform that State Government has sent the requisition. He said that the Chief Minister has the habit of retracting his statements and blaming media after being caught in a controversy. “He has now even denied his ‘bonded labourer’ remark at Shimla and may do again,” said Dhumal.
