Rao likely to join BJP in Feb

Disgruntled Congress MP from Gurgaon and Haryana Insaaf Manch president, Rao Inderjit Singh is likely to join BJP in a rally to be held at Jhajjar in February next year. While confirming this, Arun Kumar, spokesperson of Haryana Insaaf Manch said that Rao Inderjit met BJP national president Rajnath Singh at his residence in Delhi on December 21 and both the senior leaders discussed Haryana politics for about half an hour.

Rao has been constantly in touch with the BJP high command for the past two months. Earlier, he had met BJP’s PM candidate Narendra Modi, former BJP president Nitin Gadkari and leader of opposition in lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj, regarding the issue of joining BJP. According to sources, Rao has chosen Jhajjar, the land of Ahirs district near Rohtak for joining the BJP, because, his main rival Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda is MlA from Kiloi, which falls under Rohtak constituency and his son Deepender Singh Hooda is Rohtak’s MP.

Rao’s decision to join BJP is likely to affect the political scenario in the state. It is likely to badly hit the ruling Congress in southern Haryana where, Rao has good grip in three parliamentary constituencies of Ahirwals namely Gurgaon where Ahirs have two lakh voters, Bhiwani and Mahendergarh with 2.70 lakh voters and in Jhajjar area, it has 1.60 lakh voters. Now, Rao Inderjit will meet Narender Modi in Delhi on December 24 after BJP’s meeting to decide further course of action.
