Rao Inderjeet gears up for show of strength in Jhajjar

Though former Union Minister and rebel Congress MP from Gurgaon, Rao Inderjeet Singh, is yet to announce his next political move about joining any other political party, his outfit — Haryana Insaaf Manch — has begun preparation to put up a big political show here to project him as the strongest leader of South Haryana.

The manch has recently taken 45 acres in Kheri village, located on the Jhajjar-Dadri road in Jhajjar, on contract from the farmers to organise a mammoth rally ahead of lok Sabha polls. Moreover, talks with other farmers of the village are also going on to get 40 more acres for the event. Dr Ram Avtar Yadav, district president of the manch, told The Pioneer that a total of 85 acres would be taken on contract to hold the mammoth rally of their leader Rao Inderjeet who would soon decide the date of the rally.

“We have already taken 45 acres from the farmers of Kheri village on a four-month contract against a payment of Rs10,000 per acre while efforts are also being made to get 40 acres more at the nearby the site,” said Yadav, adding that farmers won't sow crops on the land by the end of April as per the contract.

He informed that around 47 acres would be used as sitting place in the rally where people coming across the State would listen to their leaders while the remaining space would be utilised for parking and other necessary arrangements so as to manage the event smoothly.

Speculation about Rao’s joining the BJP is rife in political circles after he raised a banner of revolt against Congress. He publicly raised questions about Robert Vadra’s land deals in Haryana.   Also, politically, he was not getting on well with Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
