Stating that farmers are not fully informed about the three agriculture legislations, Yoga Guru Baba Ramdev who reached Chandigarh on Tuesday said that many misconceptions are being spread about the agri-laws in the country.
While talking to the mediapesons after meeting Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij at the Secretariat, Ramdev said that the situation of farmers’ agitation would not have arrived, had the Centre Government consulted and informed the farmers and their leaders about it before presenting it in both the Houses of Parliament. Even now, farmers need to be informed about the benefit of these three laws, he said.
Ramdev said, “Being a farmer’s son, I can say that baseless rumours are being spread in the name of certain provisions that do not exist at all in three laws. In my interactions with the Prime Minister, Home Minister and Agriculture Minister several times about the three agricultural laws, no word regarding ending the MSP and mandis was spoken. The farm laws provide sufficient safeguards for the sale of crops in the open market. Now farmers can choose to sell the crop in the open market anywhere in the country to get maximum benefit, he added.
Farmers do not keep themselves updated in any way and by taking advantage of this, opposition is misleading farming community. Some leaders are trying to get political mileage over this issue, he added.
