The festive spirit may be dampened in the region as rain are likely to lash some parts of Punjab and Haryana in next 48 hours.The local Meteorological Department has forecast light to moderate rain showers at isolated places in Punjab and Haryana in next two days.
A MeT official said, “The weather is likely to remain partly cloudy with a possibility of rains on October 1 and 2 at isolated places in Punjab.”
“The temperature levels are also likely to drop in next 48 hours. Both the day and night temperatures are likely to drop in next one week in parts of the region,” he added.He said, “Many parts of the region on Tuesday recorded temperature levels up to three notches above normal.”
Chandigarh on Tuesday recorded a maximum temperature of 34.4 degrees Celsius and minimum temperature of 23.2 degrees Celsius, two three above normal.Himachal Pradesh’s capital- Shimla recorded maximum temperature of 23.4 degrees Celsius, three degrees above normal and minimum temperature settled at 13.3 degrees Celsius.
