In attempt to woo the farming community ahead of 2014 lok Sabha polls, the Congress national vice-president Rahul Gandhi would visit Ganaur in Sonepat district on February 11 to meet different farmers’ organisations across the country.

Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda, to whom the party has given the sole responsibility to organise this function, on Friday said that Rahul Gandhi is coming to incorporate issues related to the farmers’ interests in the national manifesto of the Congress for the upcoming general elections. “The invitations have been sent to all farmers’ organisations across the country and 400 farmers’ organisations from 21 states have given their confirmation to participate in  the event”, said Hooda, after the Cabinet meeting.

Hooda said that full-fledged budget for the fiscal 2014-2015 will be presented in the forthcoming session of Haryana Vidhan Sabha scheduled to commence from February 21 and the budget will be pro-farmer and pro-people, however, the duration of session would be decided by Business Advisory Committee (BAC) of Haryana Vidhan Sabha.
