Congress national vice president Rahul Gandhi, accompanied by Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa paid tribute to Sarabjit Singh at his cremation that was held in his native village.
Rahul Gandhi stayed with the aggrieved family for about half an hour and offered condolences to Sarabjit's sister Dalbir Kaur assuring full support to the family. Maintaining that Sarabjit's martyrdom would not go waste, Bajwa said that his demise had jolted the whole nation.
He consoled the sister, wife and daughters of Sarabjit Singh. He said that Pakistan had violated human rights.
Bajwa also appealed to the SAD-BJP Government not to politicise the sacrifice of Sarabjit.
