Put your own house in order: SAD to Cong chief

Coming to Punjab Revenue Minister Bikram Singh Majithia’s defence, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) on Friday asked the State Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa to look into his own family history and recent misdeeds before trying to target the youth Akali leader.

“Bajwa should look into his own family history as well as his recent misdeeds including grabbing village common land before trying to hold Majithia accountable for anything,” said senior SAD leader Maheshinder Singh Grewal, in a statement.

He said that it was amazing that a person, whose family had a shady past including allegations of being in league with drug smugglers, was levelling allegations against Majithia despite the fact that the same had been dismissed by the relevant courts.

Terming Bajwa as a “shameless loser” who led his own party to a rout in his wife’s Assembly segment and lost in all nine Assembly segments from the Gurdaspur Parliamentary constituency, Grewal said: “The fact that you lost the seat by a huge margin of 1.36 lakh votes is a barometer of your popularity.”

He urged Bajwa to set his own house in order and apologise to the Congress rank and file for his arrogant and high-headed behaviour which had set 25 Congress legislators baying for his blood.
