Punjab government waived off Rs 11 crore loans of 1653 debt ridden deceased, belonging to Scheduled Castes community, raised from the
Punjab Scheduled Castes and land Development Finance Corporation.
“Punjab Scheduled Castes and land Development Finance Corporation provided the loan on subsidised interest rate to the poor and handicapped belonging to the Scheduled Castes to start their own venture,” said an official spokesperson of the Government.
Spokesperson said that with the decision of waiving off the loans, the dependents of the debt ridden persons would
be relieved of additional
financial burden.
