Punjab Vigilance Bureau on Sunday arrested a clerk Kirandeep Singh, posted at Sunam Municipal Committee in Sangrur district while he was demanding Rs one lakh bribe. Spokesperson said that the said clerk has been arrested on the complaint of Pawan Kumar — a resident of Sunam city — who approached the VB alleging that he had applied in the Municipal Committee to get approval of map of residential building to be constructed on his plot but the said clerk was demanding a bribe of Rs one lakh in lieu of getting clearance of his file.
