Ahead of the imposition of the Model Code of Conduct for Assembly polls, Punjab Government on Monday issued transfer and posting orders of nine IAS and one PCS officer with immediate effect.
Senior IAS officer and Additional Chief Secretary DP Reddy has been shifted out of all important Finance, Excise and Taxation department. He has been posted in the local Bodies Department where he swapped post with Satish Chandra.
He will hold all departments earlier with Reddy including the Pension and Pensioners Welfare. Chandra has also been given additional charge of Resident Commissioner, Punjab Bhawan, New Delhi.
Excise and Taxation Commissioner Rajat Aggarwal has also been transferred and posted as Special Secretary Finance. Ashwani Kumar, posted as the State Transport Commissioner and holding the additional charge of Special Principal Secretary to Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal, has also been given charge of Transport Director.
K Siva Prasad, the Resident Commissioner at New Delhi, has been appointed Sugarfed managing director in place of Arun Sekhri. Varun Roojam, Greater Mohali Development Authority (GMADA) Chief Administrator, has also been given additional charge of Excise and Taxation Commissioner.
The state Special Secretary School Education Mohinder Pal Arora has been appointed Technical Education Director in place of Dharam Pal who will continue with his other charge of Special secretary Technical Education.
Arun Sekhri, who was holding charge of Sugarfed Managing Director and additional Registrar Cooperative Societies, will now hold charge of only additional registrar.
