Punjab Government on Tuesday asked all its departments to furnish information regarding backlog of SC/BC quota to the State Welfare Department. The strict directives were issued by the State Welfare Department to all departments to immediately submit detailed info on backlog of SC/BC quota cadre-wise in a detailed format so that the Punjab Government could launch a sustained campaign to clear the backlog in a time-bound manner.
“All concerned authorities should ensure timely submission of information along with the details of backlog in the State,” said an official spokesperson. He said that the instructions in this regard had also been issued earlier but till date some departments did not submit this information in set proforma. This has been taken seriously by the Welfare Committee Branch, he added.
The spokesperson said that in recent instructions, it has been stated that the information should be submitted well within one week so that actual status of backlog could be furnished before Welfare Committee Branch.
