To provide easy access to information on welfare programmes for the citizens belonging to the scheduled castes, the Punjab Government would soon install portals in 11 districts of the State. “The portal will be bilingual — English and Punjabi — and will provide comprehensive information to the SCs citizen on welfare schemes for them in State,” said Punjab Scheduled Castes Commission chairman Rajesh Bagha on Thursday.
These information kiosks would be installed at ludhiana, Amritsar, Jalandhar, Sangrur, Gurdaspur, Hoshiarpur, Patiala, Muktsar, Moga, Bhagat Singh Nagar and Mansa districts of the State. Bagha said that the motive of this project was to provide information about loan schemes and skill knowledge of 17 subjects through audio-video technique launched by the Punjab Scheduled Castes land Development and Finance Corporation by bilingual multimedia e-subject matter and portal.
He said that with the help of c-deck, Punjab Scheduled Castes land Development and Finance Corporation would install 22 touch screen Information kiosks in all these 11 districts.
