Punjab Government is all set to put an end to ‘Inspector Raj’ in the State by introducing a new policy under which all sanctions required by traders could be secured online.
Announcing this, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal on Sunday said that the State was coming up with a new policy under which all sanctions required by traders could be secured online, and would come into effect in one month.
“The new policy would ensure that traders would not have to visit any Government office for any purpose including payments and sales tax purposes,” said Sukhbir, while presiding over the State-level Maharaja Agarsain Jayanti organised by Aggarwal Maha Sabha.
Sukhbir also assured the traders gathered from across the State that Punjab had also prepared a blue print to abolish the ‘Inspector Raj’ system. “Within next six months, the State would get rid of this unwanted traditional exercise and administrative compulsion,” he added.
Reiterating his commitment to bring ‘Industrial Revolution’ in Punjab, Sukhbir said that the State had already launched industrial policy which had got an unprecedented response from the industrial honchos in the country.
“Punjab would soon witness a massive revolution in industrial sector as scores of industrial giants are contemplating to set up their units here. A delegation of TATA Group recently visited Punjab with a purpose to identify new investment avenues. Within months, positive results in industrial sector would be before the state, which would shut the mouths of those Congress leaders, who are spreading misleading propaganda in this regard,” he added.
Reacting to the “facts” produced by Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa on Punjab’s fiscal health, Deputy Chief Minister said that it appeared as if the PPCC chief did not understand the ABC of economics.
“Bajwa should be more concerned about the financial mess at the Centre instead of trying to concoct misleading economic details of Punjab. Punjab is in good fiscal health as it had only 30 per cent debt ratio to GSDP which was 46 per cent at the time of previous the Congress regime. Bajwa should know the same ratio is 68 per cent under the present Congress-led UPA Government,” said Sukhbir.
On the ‘economic imbalance’ in the country, Sukhbir said that it was a serious issue and people would ensure the exit of ‘world renowned economist’ Dr Manmohan Singh to ensure the country did not face complete ‘economic devastation’ in future.
