Moving towards realising the dream of ‘power-surplus’ Punjab, the State Government is all set to dedicate three units of thermal plants to the State on November 24, December 8 and 20.
Announcing the dates, Punjab Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal said that the SAD-BJP Government was all set to dedicate three units of thermal plants which were under construction to the State.“The first unit would be inaugurated on November 24 while the second on December 8 and third on December 20. With the inauguration of these plants, Punjab would become a power surplus state and the usage rates of power would automatically become cheaper in the State,” he added.
Giving a clarion call for “no third term for UPA”, Sukhbir asserted that this was the only way to take the country out of the severe economic mess it had slipped into due to flawed polices and programmes of the Central Government. Describing the Congress-led UPA Government as “indecisive”, Sukhbir said that India was in a ‘pitiable’ condition due to total collapse in Governance and that the people were now ready to throw it out of power in the forthcoming parliamentary elections.
“Punjab Congress is working under a conspiracy to tarnish State’s well-built image by falsifying facts. State Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa is misleading the people by dishing out wrong and misleading information,” said Sukhbir while talking to media persons after dedicating Rs 25 crore newly constructed State office complex of Water Supply and Sanitation and Senior Architect. Advising Bajwa to desist from spreading false propoganda on financial front, Sukhbir said that he should instead mount pressure on the Centre to release Punjab’s share in central sales tax of Rs 700 crore immediately.
