Banking on noted agriculture scientist MS Swaminathan’s statement that organic farming will usher in the evergreen revolution in the country, Punjab Government on Tuesday decided to promote the same.
The State Government has decided to lay more emphasis on organic farming, especially in the Malwa belt where excessive use of pesticides together with water contamination has caused tremendous damage.
Besides, the State Government would also organise focused awareness campaigns among the farmers to change their mindset, for guiding and helping them in the proper implementation of organic farming techniques.
