Taking notice of the recent developments in Himmatpura village in Moga district where some women belonging to SC community were unjustly and fraudulently made to shell out extra money on the pretext of helping those secure loans, the Punjab State Scheduled Castes Commission has sought report from the Moga Senior Superintendent of Police within 15 days.
Commission’s chairman Rajesh Bagha said that the Commission had taken a suo-motu notice of the reports published regarding incidents in Himmatpura village in which Rs 300 each were extorted from women belonging to the SC community in lieu of helping them fill the forms to secure Rs 50,000 worth loan.
The Commission has directed Moga Senior Superintendent of Police to investigate the matter and submit the report within 15 days.
Assuring a strong action against the erring, the Commission’s chairman said that the Commission would protect the rights of the SC community and nobody would be allowed to abuse the community in any way.
