Punjab PWD Minister Razia Sultana on Thursday pledged not to indulge in corrupt practices while also advising her Department’s officers to observe 100 per cent honesty and transparency in their official work. Stressing on zero tolerance against all forms of corruption, Sultana categorically said, “I take pledge before you that I won't indulge in corrupt practices and advice you all to observe 100 per cent honesty and transparency in official work.” Sultana, presiding over a high level meeting of PWD department to review the progress of different development works, made an emphatic appeal to all the officers of the Department to work hard with unflinching sincerity and missionary zeal to execute the development works. During the meeting attended by Executive Engineers and SDOs of different wings of the Department, the Minister issued set of instructions to the officers asking them to expedite the work of the ongoing development projects and to complete these projects within stipulated time-frame strictly adhering to the high quality standards. Sultana also instructed the officers to desist from the practice of lobbying for getting preferential postings and transfers. She made it clear that now onwards, transfers and postings will be done purely on merit taking into consideration the hard work, sincerity, honesty and performance of the that particular officer.
