Punjab Congress president Capt Amarinder Singh on Tuesday hinted that some sitting party MlAs may be dropped in the coming elections depending on their performance and winnability. The former CM made it clear that “winnability” will be the sole criteria for selecting party candidates for the 2017 Assembly elections. Amarinder Singh, talking to media along the side lines of his ‘Halke Vich Captain’ programme, said that the party had already started the process of identifying the candidates. He said that surveys by independent agencies were being carried out to assess the performance and winnability of the ticket aspirants.
Reacting to a query whether all sitting MlAs will be re-nominated, he said that it will depend on the winnability and if some sitting candidates will need to be replaced, they will be.
