To counter misinformation campaign and false propaganda unleashed by radicals or gangsters to influence people, especially the youth, the Punjab Police on Monday marked its presence on the social media.
As the Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh formally launched the Punjab Police’s online campaign, its official Facebook page (facebook.com/PunjabPoliceIndia), Twitter account (twitter.com/PunjabPolice), YouTube channel along with the State police chief’s Twitter account have gone live.
Punjab Police’s social media campaign will go a long way in bridging the gap between the police and the citizens, and also in tackling the abuse of social media by gangsters and criminals seeking to spread terror in the state, said Capt Amarinder at the launch ceremony.
