The Punjab Government on Thursday gave its approval to file revised self-declaration return on the property tax.
Issuing a clarification pertaining to the provisions of Punjab Municipal Act, 1911, and Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, the state government declared that there is no restriction on filing a revised self-declaration return on property tax.
If per chance, a person has not been able to file a proper return and is desirous to file a revised one, he can do the same¸ said a spokesperson of the state local Self Government Department.
He said that as there is no specific provision in Punjab Municipal Act, 1911, and Punjab Municipal Corporation Act, 1976, pertaining to filing of self-declaration return on property tax, this clarification has been issued to dispel the doubts of people.
He added that while filing the revised return, the terms and conditions regarding interest or penalty etc will remain intact.
