Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Dr Baljit Kaur, during the inauguration ceremony of Aryans Scholarship Mela organised by Aryans Group of Colleges on Sunday, said that the reason for decline in the number of admissions in state is the previous Congress Government because they did not pay a single penny for the year 2017-18, 2018-19, 2019-20. She said that Bhagwant Mann Government would streamline the implementation of Post Matric Scholarship (PMS) and would ensure that no SC students will be deprived of education. “As soon as I took over as the Minister, our Government immediately paid Rs 1.80 crore as 40 percent state share to around 1.90 lakh SC students of Punjab for the academic year 2021-22. In 2022-23 also, we will make timely payment to SC students so that they get uninterrupted education,” she added.
