Listing out the norms for international travellers arriving in Punjab, the State Government has given them the option to submit a self-declaration form online at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel, along with an undertaking that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days.

At the same time, exemption can be given “only for compelling reasons or cases of human distress” like pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parent(s) with children of the age of 10 years or below, for which the travelers can apply online at least 72 hours before boarding and submitting their Covid-19 test report on the portal.

Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu said that before planning for travel, all travelers should submit self-declaration form on the online portal (www.newdelhiairport.in) at least 72 hours before the scheduled travel.

“They should also give an undertaking on the portal that they would undergo mandatory quarantine for 14 days — that is seven days paid institutional quarantine at their own cost, followed by seven days of isolation at home with self-monitoring of health,” he said.

The Minister clarified that now, the travelers can apply directly online for home quarantine under which only for compelling reasons or cases of human distress such as pregnancy, death in family, serious illness and parent(s) with children of the age of 10 years or below, home quarantine may be permitted for 14 days.

He said that as per the guidelines, travelers may also seek exemption from institutional quarantine by submitting a negative RTPCR test report on arrival.

This test should have been conducted within 96 hours prior to undertaking the journey, and the test report should be uploaded on the portal for consideration.
