In a landmark move aimed at enhancing citizen access to government services, the Punjab Government on Tuesday launched the ‘AAP Di Sarkar, Aap De Dwaar’ scheme across all 23 districts of the State. The initiative entailed setting up camps in villages and neighborhoods to address the concerns of the people directly.

Under this scheme, ministers and legislators in every division of all districts have taken charge, actively engaging with the public to hear their grievances. Furthermore, 45 services, previously requiring visits to service centers, will now be accessible at these camps, making government services more convenient for citizens.

Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann personally visited the camp in Bhankharpur, emphasizing the government's commitment to serve the people at their doorsteps. During his visit, he inspected various departments’ operations and interacted with the attendees, including female firefighters, highlighting their challenges.

Notably, concerns were raised about gender disparities in physical tests for certain departments, with female applicants alleging discrimination. Addressing these issues, Chief Minister Mann assured corrective measures, including revising recruitment policies to ensure fairness and equality.

In addition to addressing immediate concerns, the Chief Minister discussed plans to fill over 1400 vacancies and streamline administrative procedures. He emphasized the government's dedication to improve service delivery, exemplified by the recent restoration of 13,471 watercourses to ensure efficient water distribution for agriculture.

The ‘AAP Di Sarkar, Aap De Dwaar’ scheme marks a significant shift towards citizen-centric governance, enabling direct interaction between officials and the public. By decentralizing services and establishing camps in every tehsil, the Government aimed to foster transparency, accountability, and responsiveness.

These camps, operational from 10 am to 5 pm daily, offer a range of services, from attesting documents to resolving complaints, providing residents with timely assistance. Moreover, the establishment of help desks ensures efficient service delivery and enhances public awareness about available services.

Furthermore, the Chief Minister's announcement of 11,600 camps scheduled across the State this month underscored the government’s commitment to reach every corner of Punjab. By proactively engaging with citizens and addressing their needs, the Government aimed to empower communities and build trust in governance.

Chief Minister also took the opportunity to critique opposition parties, particularly the Akali Dal, accusing them of theatrical politics and neglecting the state's development. He reiterated his government's focus on inclusive growth and equitable distribution of resources, contrasting his administration's proactive approach with the previous regime's negligence.

In light of recent controversies, including the rejection of Punjab's tableaus during Republic Day celebrations, Chief Minister condemned the Union Government's discriminatory treatment. He vowed to challenge any attempts to undermine Punjab's pride and heritage, asserting the state's right to fair representation and recognition.

Despite facing opposition from traditional parties and external forces, Chief Minister remains resolute in his commitment to serving the people of Punjab. He reaffirmed his government's determination to uphold democratic values and fight against any attempts to subvert the will of the people.

Mann, addressing the gathering, described it as a ‘red letter day’ in the state’s history as “people will no longer, have to rush to government offices for their routine administrative works…Rather, the Government officers will come at the doorsteps of the people and offer services to them thereby immensely benefitting them. This is the real empowerment of people where government will wholeheartedly work for the well-being of the masses”.

The Chief Minister said that in the camp, all important officers like SDM, Tehsildar, District Social Security Officer (DSSO), District Food Supply Officer (DFSO), Station House Officer (SHO), District Welfare Officer (DWO), Kanugo, Patwari, SDO, Xen and others will be available to accept applications and deliver services.

In all, 44 major services, which the public needs most like Residence Certificate, Caste certificate, Income certificate, Birth/Death certificate, Fard, Labour Registration, Pension, Rural area certificate and others, can be applied and delivered in camps. Other than that, citizens will be able to give their complaints too in the camps which will be redressed on the spot only.
