Buying Punjab State lotteries from the past ten years, Himachal Pradesh State Cooperative Bank’s manager Om Parkash Thakur finally see the luck smiling on him when he won Rs three crore first prize of Punjab State Holi Bumper-2019.
Keeping his dreams alive patiently and making constant efforts to achieve them, Thakur had been buying tickets of Punjab State Lottery Bumpers for last 10 years. Currently, he is serving as HPSCB’s manager at Dalan branch (Shimla).
Thakur has now again bought the Punjab State Sawan Bumper-2019, whose draw would be held on July 8, 2019.
A nature lover, Thakur said that he does not have any big future plans to spend the hefty prize money, but he wants to expand his apple orchard farm at his native village Malian of Hamirpur district.
He said that he has a special love for horticulture and the prize money would give him an opportunity to do new experiments in the field.
This time, the Holi Bumper’s second prize of Rs one crore had also gone out of Punjab. The second lucky winner was Vaishali Dhananjay Gosavi of Nasik in Maharashtra.
Notably, Punjab is the only state in the country, which guaranteed giving away first two prizes to public from the sold tickets and these two winners Thakur of Himachal Pradesh and Dhananjay of Maharashtra are the examples of it.
Punjab State Lotteries acquired a good name and goodwill across the country that not only the people of Punjab but the people from other states also show interest in it, said the Department’s spokesperson.
