Two days after thousands of candidates failed to appear for the exam for the State Food and Supply Inspectors due to traffic snarls in Chandigarh, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Tuesday said that the Government would minutely examine the matter and any decision regarding it would be taken soon.

The exam was conducted on Sunday to recruit 461 food inspectors in Food and Civil Supplies Department at more than 300 centres in Chandigarh. With demand for re-conducting the exam gaining momentum, Punjab Government is yet to decide whether to cancel the exam or go-ahead with it.

After laying the foundation stone of Punjab Institute of Technology at Baje Ke village, Badal said that in order to give a major push to education in this region, this Institute would be constructed by Punjab Technical University (PTU) at a cost of Rs30 crore.

“This institute would be pivotal in imparting technical education to the students of this region thereby enabling to excel in life,” he added.  later, addressing the gathering during Sangat Darshan program at Dharamkot, Badal said a scheme to provide basic civic amenities in all the cities has already been embarked.
