Coming to the rescue of hundreds of investors of an Abohar based real estate firm Nature Heights, senior Congress leader Sunil Jakhar has alleged that Punjab Government was trying to prevent people who defrauded innocent investors.
Addressing a press conference in Chandigarh accompanying scores of investors of the company, Jakhar alleged that the chief of the company had been getting support from Akali leader Shiv lal Doda and police in connivance with its political bosses were pressing people for compromise with the company instead of coming to their rescue.
Accusing the Government of “Jungle Raaj” in Punjab, Jakhar said that the police had registered around 15 FIRs against the head of the accused company nine months ago but no action was taken on the registered FIRs.
Jakhar took the investors to Director General of Police Suresh Arora and raised the issue with him. DGP is learnt to have assured the investors that their cases would be transferred to Mohali and he would himself take care of the investigation.
The investors present at the conference claimed that the company had duped people on the pretext of coming up with 22 real estate projects in different parts of the country and the quantum of money fraudulently taken by the company is expected to be around 3000 crores. They said that the company had shifted its office in the farm house of Shiv lal Doda few months back. And neither the company was giving them the promised land nor their money was being returned.
Gurjant Singh, one of the investor, said that thousands of people might have fallen a prey to the company. Another investor Mahipal said that 86 investors of the company had sent a complaint to Prime Minister Office and a response from PMO is awaited.
