Punjab Social Security, Women and Child Development Minister Aruna Choudhary on Monday exhorted the people to follow and comply with all legal procedures while adopting a child.
“Many children being exploited, abandoned, and left alone are being kept in different children's homes. In these homes, the children are provided with a favorable environment for their overall personality development,” said the Minister.
The Minister said that those couples, who do not have children or others who wish to adopt them, should come forward so that these children can play an effective role as the responsible members of the civil society besides having a better life.
In addition, they have asked the adopters to complete all legal procedures before adopting children to avoid any complications later on. “There are currently 10 Adoption Agencies in the state which handle the procedure of child adoption after the completion of the legal processes,” she said.
