Setting a new milestone, Punjab Finance Department has gone paperless from Monday. The Department has started its entire work online which would prove to be a major step to ensure paperless administration in releasing funds to various departments across the state.
Finance Minister Parminder Singh Dhindsa said that as the training process to all concerned officials, employees has been completed, the department has started to receive all fund proposals from various departments only online.
“Earlier all district treasuries have already started online payments to all kinds of beneficiaries from April 1, 2013. The Minister further said that Punjab is the first state in the country to initiate this process to eliminate the corruption at bottom level and to ease out the delivery of financial services to the masses,” he added.
Dhindsa said that as part of the e-sarkar project, a CM Plan schemes monitoring system has been implemented on Integrated Work Flow and Document Management System (iWDMS). Under this, the facilities have been provided to all departments to submit all cases for release of funds online to the Finance department.
It has also been decided that the no physical files would be required to be submitted, and necessary instruction has been issued by the Punjab Government to all the departments, the minister added.
To assist the departments in this regard, the Tata Consultancy Service (TCS) has also deputed their personnel in the administrative department to implement this procedure successfully, he added.
