The Punjab Government has been providing subsidy to the farmers of the State during current Rabi season under Rastriya Krishi Yojna, National Food Security Mission, and the Crop Diversification Programme.
“The Punjab Government is providing Rs 500 per quintal subsidy on certified seeds of various verities of wheat like HD-2967, PBW-550, 621, 590 and PBW 509," said the state Chief Parliamentary Secretary for Agriculture Gurbachan Singh Babbehali.
He said that 50 per cent subsidy would also be given for seed pesticides. "This subsidy would be given through Agriculture Department, Sale Centres of PUNSEED, NSE Cooperative Societies and Kribhco only," he added.
Babbehali said that 50 per cent or Rs 500 per hectare subsidy would also be given on seed treatment of wheat and on latest agriculture machinery.He appealed the farmers to contact Chief Agriculture Officer or Agriculture Department for any information.
