In a major people-friendly initiative, Punjab Government on Thursday announced to enhance the daily timings of all 320 Sewa Kendras and 506 Saanjh Kendras across the State from April 15. All the Kendras will also remain open on Sundays.
The decision was taken on the directions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, who termed the initiative as people-friendly. “It would be instrumental in delivering the more citizen-centric services promptly to the public in a seamless manner,” he said.
Notably, Saanjh Kendras are at all district headquarters, sub-division and police station levels — called Police Station Outreach Centres.
The timings of Sewa Kendras and Saanjh Kendras across the State have now been extended by two hours daily on weekdays — that is from Monday to Friday and these will now remain open from 8 am to 6 pm as against 9 am to 5 pm earlier.
Sewa Kendras and Saanjh Kendras would now also be open every Sunday and the timings for citizens to avail services on Saturdays and Sundays will be from 8 am to 4 pm.
