Congress party leaders in Punjab on Sunday hailed the victory of the ‘grand alliance’ of the Janata Dal (United), Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress in the recently-held Assembly elections in Bihar as a “rejection of the divisive and intolerant forces”.
Congress Deputy leader in the lok Sabha Capt Amarinder Singh welcomed the Bihar election results as the “victory of pluralism, secularism and democracy and rejection of the divisive and intolerant forces that were sought to be unleashed in recent past in the country”.
Congratulating the people of Bihar for rejecting the divisive and intolerant forces, Capt Amarinder said that the result has reinforced the belief that people want to live in peace and harmony and mutual respect for one another.
He also congratulated Nitish Kumar for retaining the faith and confidence of people against all odds.
Punjab Congress chief Partap Singh Bajwa, welcoming the crushing defeat given by the people of Bihar to the divisive forces commanded by the Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He also complemented the party vice-president Rahul Gandhi for his political acumen and foresight for stitching a strategic alliance of secular forces that has stonewalled the Hindutava bandwagon which is determined to turn the clock back and are destroying the secular fabric of our country.
“Prime Minister addressed more than 30 rallies in Bihar which is unprecedented and had made it a prestige issue. Modi has devalued the office of the Prime Minister in this process by attempting to push forward his divisive agenda,” said Bajwa while lambasting senior BJP leaders, including party chief Amit Shah, for spreading the politics of hate.
Bajwa said that Modi had misled the people during the lok Sabha elections and had showed them false dreams but the bubble had now burst and his real face stands exposed that has led to the victory of good over evil.
