Punjab Cogress on Thursday demanded immediate suspension of Chandigarh SHO Narinder Patial for trespassing into Congress Bhawan on Wednesday and manhandling the party workers and journalists there.
A delegation of the party led by the ClP leader Charanjit Singh Channi and comprising of MlA Balbir Singh Sidhu, Inderjeet Zira, Sandeep Sandhu and Kamal Saini met Punjab and Haryana Governor and the UT Administrator Kaptan Singh Solanki on THursday and brought to his attention as how the police official had run amuck on Wednesday inside the Congress office.
The Governor gave a patient hearing to the delegation and assured that strict action will be taken against the guilty cop. The delegation brought to the Governor’s notice that the security of the Punjab Congress Bhawan was being taken care of by the Punjab Police and the Chandigarh Police official had no business to barge into the office premises.
