Punjab Congress on Tuesday lashed out at former Congress MlA Avtar Singh Brar for backstabbing the party which gave him so much respect and condemned him for selling his conscience to the Badals.
Brar joined Akali Dal last week and has attacked Punjab Congress president Partap Singh Bajwa for alleged fraudulent land deals.
In a statement issued here, PPCC Vice Presidents Charanjit Singh Channi, Tarlochan Singh Soond, Gurpreet Singh Kangar, Om Parkash Soni and Kushaldeep Singh Dhillon, General Secretary PPCC said that Brar had became mouthpiece of Badal family and playing in the hands of communal and anti-Punjab forces.
The people of Punjab would never forgive him for his opportunism.
The PPCC leaders said that Avtar Brar had earlier as well in 1986 joined Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) when Beant Singh was the PPCC president and later rejoined the Congress Party in 1989.
They said Avtar Brar was of late among the severe critics of Badals and his shift in loyalty was unethical and immoral.
