Punjab CM welcomes reopening of Tytler case

Welcoming Delhi Court's decision to reopen case against senior Congress leader Jagdish Tytler for inciting mob during anti-Sikh riots of 1984, Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Thursday said that at last a ray of hope has rekindled amongst the Sikhs in general, and aggrieved families of riot victims in particular, for getting justice.

Badal, talking to the mediapersons after attending a function to mark death anniversary of former Akali MlA Jathedar Jasdev Singh Sandhu, said: "It is unfortunate that even after over 30 years, justice eluded to the victims of these riots which were led by senior Congress leaders.

Badal ruled that Congress at the helms of affairs had deliberately derailed the dispensation of justice to the victims of this holocaust and rubbed salt into their wounds by rewarding the guilty with coveted posts.

He added that it was height of apathy as the Centre has always hurt the sentiments of Punjabis in general and that of Sikhs in particular by irrelevantly meddling in their social, economic, political and even religious issues.
