Reaffirming the Punjab Government's commitment to crack down on illegal travel agents, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann on Thursday emphasized its dedication to empowering the youth and curbing human trafficking. Speaking at a function where 518 job letters were handed over to the state’s youth across various government departments including education, finance, power, Mann underscored the importance of providing opportunities for the youth to deter them from falling into the trap of illegal agents.

Mann reiterated his stance against illegal travel agents, emphasizing that his Government has adopted a zero tolerance policy towards those who deceive people and engage in human trafficking. He highlighted the state’s efforts to raise awareness about the risks associated with such agents and emphasized the need for stringent action against them, including amendments to immigration laws.

Addressing the youth, Mann urged them to remain vigilant against divisive propaganda aimed at derailing the state's development agenda. He assured them that the government is committed to their welfare and creating avenues for employment within the state, thereby discouraging them from seeking opportunities abroad through illicit means.

Highlighting the success of the State Government's efforts, Mann noted a reverse trend in migration, with youth returning to Punjab and securing employment opportunities through their hard work. He expressed pride in the achievements of the state's youth and reiterated the government's commitment to providing job opportunities based on merit.

Mann also took a dig at his predecessors, accusing them of amassing wealth at the expense of the state's development. He emphasized the need for a proactive approach to youth empowerment and job creation, asserting that his government's focus is on building a progressive and prosperous Punjab.

In response to criticism from opposition parties, Mann defended his Government's initiatives and pledged to continue efforts to empower the youth and address the state’s challenges. He called out the opposition for their past failures and urged them to support the state’s efforts towards progress and development.

As part of its ongoing efforts, the State Government announced plans to establish eight hi-tech training centers to prepare students for competitive exams, aiming to groom future leaders who will contribute to the state's growth and development. Mann reiterated the Government's commitment to ensuring that Punjab's youth have the opportunity to excel and serve the nation in prestigious positions.

Furthermore, Mann stressed the importance of merit-based recruitment in government departments, highlighting the foolproof mechanism adopted by his government to ensure transparency and accountability in the recruitment process. He pointed out that not a single appointment out of the more than 40,000 made so far has been challenged in any court, reflecting the government's commitment to fair and meritocratic practices.

Mann also addressed concerns about the influence of divisive forces in the state, urging the youth to reject propaganda aimed at sowing discord and division. He emphasized the need for unity and solidarity among Punjabis, stating that the state's progress depends on the collective efforts of its people.

In conclusion, Mann reiterated his government's determination to uphold the rule of law and promote the welfare of Punjab's youth. He called on all stakeholders to join hands in building a brighter future for the state, emphasizing the importance of unity, integrity, and inclusive growth. As Punjab continues on its path of development, Mann expressed confidence that the state's youth will play a pivotal role in shaping its destiny and realizing its full potential.
