Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Sunday constituted a team of senior officers to sort out the issues of SAD-BJP councillors related to development of their municipal wards in Mohali.

Badal, following a meeting with a delegation of SAD-BJP councillors led by Kharar Market Committee chairman Baljit Singh Kumbra, asked the Mohali Municipal Corporation Commissioner, Deputy Commissioner and Chief Administrators of Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) and Punjab Urban Development Authority (PUDA) to look into their demands so as to ensure timely completion of development works within their respective municipal wards in the larger public interest.

Interacting with 22 SAD-BJP councillors, Badal assured their development works would be taken up on priority so as to provide best civic amenities to the residents of Mohali.

He said his Government would also soon take an appropriate call on the need based policy, which was under active consideration of Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Badal, who also holds the portfolio of Housing and Urban Development.

Badal directed the MC Commissioner and GMADA CA to work out an action bound plan to ensure proper maintenance of various parks across the city, besides chalking out a strategy to provide drinking water especially in those areas which were badly hit due to scarcity of water supply. “Effort should be intensified to enhance water supply from Kajauli Head Works to overcome water shortage in some parts of the city,” he added.

GMADA CA informed that a plan was on anvil to shift scattered milk dairies from Kumbra, Matour, Sohana and Madanpura villages within the MC limits to some other place for developing exclusively a dairy cluster.
