Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal on Friday felicitated the Punjab farmers for bumper production of paddy. He also appreciated the State procurement agencies for nearly accomplishing gigantic task of smooth, prompt and hassle-free procurement of paddy with utmost dedication, sincerity and commitment.

Singh Kairon to ensure smooth lifting of paddy and timely payment of their produce to the farmers in an efficacious manner.
Chief Minister said that it was a matter of great honour and satisfaction for all of us, especially the Punjabi farmers, who, by their grit and stamina, produced record paddy this time, which was evident from the fact that as on today 130 lakh MT of paddy had already been procured in the state as compared to 118 lakh MT procured during last year.
“I hope that the current procurement trend suggests that it might even surpass the 135 lakh MT,” he said.
