Punjab Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) VK Singh has sent his reply on the Congress’ complaint seeking the State police chief Sumdeh Singh Saini’s transfer ahead 2014 lok Sabha polls.
The ball in now in the court of the Election Commission of India (ECI), which would “take decision on the issue only after the model code of conduct comes into effect”, a senior poll officer said. Sources maintained that the CEO has sent the file to the central authorities on Friday, along with the Punjab government’s reply on the issue.
