In a major overhaul, the Punjab Chief Electoral Officer has ordered to transfer 19 officials of different departments and suspended a SDE of the PWD department for violating the Model Code of Conduct for elections.
Supreet Singh Gulati, Additional CEO said the CEO has ordered transfers of 19 officials of different departments after finding them violating the Model Code.Besides ordering transfer of the DSP Ajnala Sohan Singh, an enquiry by Executive Magistrate has been recommended. He said that Punjab DGP has been asked to post Ketan Patil, IPS as ASP Ajnala.
